2 Illegals Charged With Credit Card Fraud
On December 29, 2011, the Bay County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by a victim of credit card fraud. The victim stated she had noticed fraudulent charges while reviewing her credit card bill.
Subsequent investigation revealed the items ordered using her credit card were shipped to an address in Bay County at 8016 Royal Hunt Club Drive, Panama City Beach.
A search warrant was obtained for the residence and investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division discovered in the room numerous shipping boxes. Items ordered ranged from laptops to clothing, including a snowboard and custom headphones.
Investigators interviewed the two men in the residence at the time of the search warrant. Grigoriy Zossim, DOB 9/13/89, of 600 Augusta Road, Panama City Beach, and Kamal Zhetpispayev, DOB 10-13-89, of 8016 Royal Hunt Club Drive, Panama City Beach, are citizens of Kazakhstan living in the United States on temporary immigration visas. Investigators believe the men were receiving the merchandise purchased fraudulently with stolen credit cards, keeping some of the merchandise for personal use, and packaging the rest of it to mail to another location, possibly in another country.
Zossim and Zhetpispayev were arrested on January 9, 2012, and charged with Dealing in Stolen property and Grand Theft. The investigation continues and additional charges are possible.
