Drug and Child Neglect Charges Get Local Man 5 Years

Somchai Miller pleaded no contest Thursday on the morning of trial to numerous drug and child neglect charges and was sentenced to 5 years in prison.

Assistant State Attorney Jennifer Hawkins was prepared to show that Miller, 40, of 5004 Merritt Brown Dr., was arrested after Bay County deputies served a search warrant at his residence Jan. 7, 2011, and found bags of drugs within reach of the two small hildren also in the house.

Deputies found: 370 grams of hydrocodone, five grams OxyContin, 15 grams Methadone, 12 grams morphine, 60 Methadone pills, 300 anax pills, 44 Klonopin pills, 500 Valium pills, 253 lorazepam pills, nine bags of marijuana and one bag of hash.

Bags, scales and an inventory list were also found. Miller entered his plea to: trafficking in oxycodone, trafficking in ydrocodone, possession of Xanax with intent to sell, possession of morphine sulfate, possession of zydone, two counts of child neglect, possession of oxycodone with intent to sell, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful owning or renting of property for the purpose of selling or manufacturing drugs.
