Felon Under Investigation For Holding Hostages, Arrested On Warrant
The Panama City Police Department announces the arrest of Lewarrentay Devorn Jones, 24 years of age.
Jones is being charged with one count of being a Felon In Possession Of A Firearm, Felon In Possession Of Ammunition, and A Fugitive From Justice.
On January 11, 2011 at approximately 11:00 A.M. the Panama City Police Department received a call that two woman were being held hostage at the Scottish Inn located at 4907 West Highway 98. Officers and Detectives with the Panama City Police Department responded and began an investigation.
During the initial phase of the investigation it was learned that Jones had an outstanding warrant in Georgia and had a Walther P22, .22 caliber semiautomatic handgun and ammunition in his possession.
The allegation that he was holding the women hostage as well as other criminal offenses remain under investigation. Jones was arrested at 2:00 P.M. on January 11, 2012.
